Frequently asked questions

Are the KTJ dip tubes a copy?

No, as early as 1994 we developed the Quick Connect system together with Riedel de Haën (today Honeywell Specialty Chemicals Seelze GmbH) and have continuously improved and expanded it ever since. We therefore do not see ourselves as a copy, but as the “original” when it comes to the Quick Connect System.

Do the Quick Connect dip tubes of the KTJ fit into the packing materials used as usual?

Yes, because since the introduction we have adapted our dip tubes including adapters to the dimensions of the packaging technology. We offer Quick Connect adapters with the threads S56x4, S62x5, as well as S70x6 in injection-molded and various other geometries in machined version. We can adjust the immersion tube lengths according to customers’ requirements.

Do the KTJ dip tubes fit existing Quick Connect dispense heads from other third-party suppliers?

Yes, the process-relevant geometries of the dip tube adapters are 100% identical to those of other suppliers, which means that dispense heads from other suppliers also fit our adapters. In comparison, our adapters are technically more advanced, as our new injection-molding tools incorporate small improvements such as multiple gate points for more uniform mold filling, better cooling within the tools, as well as material marking and date stamping.

Does mixing the manufacturers void the warranty on the system?

Of course, we take over the process-technical guarantee when using our components. Our dip tubes and dispense heads are compatible with those produced in Ostfildern, and we guarantee it. The dip tubes and dispensing heads from both companies have been used side by side on the market for over 20 years and still meet the original specifications set by Honeywell today.

Do the KTJ dispense heads fit the Quick Connect dip tubes of other third-party suppliers?

Yes, because the connections are predefined by the design specifications of the Honeywell Quick Connect system of the time. Our dispense head can therefore be installed with the dip tubes of another supplier without any problems. Thus, the KTJ dispense head is differed only in the technical progress to those of other suppliers.

Are the Quick Connect dip tubes of the KTJ approved?

Yes, the dip tubes with the associated adapters have been approved for over 20 years. Since 2020, we have been manufacturing the injection-molded adapters on sibling molds. Since we have only made minor modifications, such as a date clock, material identification, optimized cooling zones and four injection points instead of one, the adapters can be classified as identical. A new approval at BAM is therefore not necessary. Since its introduction, its suitability has been proven through numerous drop tests and other recurring inspections, all without any issues.

Is the purity given for the KTJ dip tubes for semiconductor applications?

Yes! The system was explicitly developed for high purity application and for the semiconductor industry. From production to packaging of the dip tubes, everything is done under clean room conditions to avoid contamination in the end product. We have been supplying well-known companies in the semiconductor industry for many years via chemical distributors without any complaints or negative incidents.

Multiple leach-out comparisons between KTJ’s dip tubes and dip tubes from other suppliers show a five to ten times better cleanliness level in our product compared to other PE dip tubes, as well as an almost identical profile to PFA dip tubes from a major US manufacturer in terms of metallic impurities.
